The Ministry of National Defense said today (30^th) that the national army annually elect for exemplary practices and hold celebration events to award the war preparation works and the promotion of civil national defense works of the national army to encourage excellence, build role model and motivate the morale of the national army. This year (2018), the Armed Forces Day and civil national defense education day commendation event will be held at 10am in the Jhongjheng Hall of the Ministry of National Defense, and will be hosted by President Tsai Ing-wen to give award to the winner of “National Army Excellence Award”, “Exemplary Groups (Commanders)”, “Exemplary Welcome Army Practices” and “National Defense Education Excellence Award”.

The Ministry of National Defense pointed out that in order to appreciate the caring of Friends of Armed Forces Association to the national army, the award-giving event is hold with the FAFA this year, and award winners including 45 winners of “National Army Excellence Award” (including Colonel Chang Wei-Chao of Penghu Defense Command, etc.), 26 winners of “Exemplary Groups (Commanders)” (including Major Ko Chun-Hao of Anti-armor Platoon of Penghu Defense Command, etc.), 22 winners of “Exemplary Welcome Army Practices” (Chairman of Taiwan Importers & Exporters Chamber of Commerce, Lin Wan-Te, etc.), 27 winners of“National Defense Education Excellence Award - Group” (including Deputy Director General of Cho Chien-Fa of the Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, etc.), and 14 winners of “National Defense Education Excellence Award - Individual” (including the principal of Min-Hwei Junior College of Health Care Management Yeh Chih-Cheng, etc.), there are 134 winners in total. All award winners and their family have taken photograph with the President after the awarding event, the scene is warm and solemn.
